The House of Hope was founded by Lisa Fleming and her husband Euan, following Lisa’s own diagnosis with incurable secondary breast cancer in 2017. Over the last 6.5 years, Lisa has immersed herself within the cancer community, along with Euan and the support of friends and family, successfully raising over £2 million for secondary breast cancer research, support, and education.

Over the last few years, through public speaking across the UK, forging relationships on and offline with other patients living with or impacted by breast cancer, Lisa identified a gap in wellbeing and support provision within her hometown of Edinburgh.

As a service user of Future Dreams House in London, which is currently the only dedicated breast cancer support centre in the UK, Lisa has experienced first-hand as a patient the positive impact that such a service can have on the emotional and physical wellbeing of someone living with breast cancer.

A breast cancer diagnosis at any stage can impact all aspects of your daily life and be all consuming. The House of Hope will be a haven away from the outside world where those who are impacted by breast cancer can be who they need to be in a safe space, whilst offering connectivity, support, and friendship.

Lisa Fleming, Founder

Our vision is clear for The House of Hope. We want to improve the quality of life for people impacted by breast cancer by establishing the first bespoke breast cancer support and wellbeing centre in Scotland, providing access to funded wellbeing and holistic therapies and services away from the sterile hospital or clinical setting to complement medical treatment.

The centre will offer a sanctuary for those impacted by breast cancer in any way or at any stage.  Through the provision of fully funded, specifically tailored, workshops, classes, and support groups to empower participants, tackle social isolation because of a breast cancer diagnosis and provide a community to help service users feel connected.

Breast cancer will impact 1 in 8 women in Scotland during their lifetime. Please join us on the pathway to creating The House of Hope to provide invaluable and much needed services and support for anyone in Scotland impacted by breast cancer.

Thank you in advance for joining us on this journey.
